Once upon a time the media was considered a “friend” that would inform and educate us about what was going on in the world. It used to consist of a balance between good and bad news. But not any more!

Now the media is completely obsessed with scaring and frightening and warning us, mostly about things that are NOWHERE near as bad as what it portrays or are NEVER going to happen anyway.

Remember the Y2K bug that was going to spell the end of the use of computers on this planet? What about bird flu? What about this latest FEAR it is spreading on swine flu?

In its absolutely DESPERATE and mad scramble for ratings against all other rivals, almost every media outlet – principally the electronic media of television and radio, but also newspapers - is sensationalising the so-called economic disaster-meltdown-crash-whatever and ramming it right down everybody’s throat at every available opportunity. I swear, if I hear that jingoistic claptrap “these harsh economic times” one more time – which I invariably will some time today, then I will switch off that media outlet for a week!

In my opinion, the media is DRIVING the economic collapse. Now why do I say that? Well, put simply, if you tell enough people often enough that things are REALLY, REALLY bad, then guess what? Things become REALLY, REALLY bad! A perception is created and the prophesy becomes fulfilling.

Key to Success – Positivity

We are all different and our differences provide contrast in our life’s to make the world a more interesting place. We all have our own personal preferences, likes and dislikes, pet-loves and hates and our personalities encapsulate the choices we make. We would live in a very boring world if everyone saw things exactly the same way and thankfully we don’t.

The fact that two people can disagree doesn’t mean one is right and one is wrong. I love Football (the soccer variety for international readers!) but I fully appreciate that many across the world don’t and like some other sport. In fact another group of people dislike sport with a vengeance. (Now they must be wrong, surely, I mean what is wrong with these people – of course, I jest and I reemphasise that these are just personal choices and these differences amongst us provide the immense choices we all have available to us today).

I used sport in the example above, but each and everyday we make choices in all areas of our life. The choices we make will have a bearing on the direction our life takes and if we manage to succeed or not in whatever pursuit we take up. Some of these are short term choices with likely very little lasting consequences; what I will have for breakfast? Others are more long term; what career choice will I make? However, the choices we make are only one factor in how things will turn out. It is how you approach the choices we all make and the ‘mindset’ you adopt that will be the biggest determinate of success or failure.

Attention All Newbie Marketers!

Today there are 2 programs launching that should be "no brainers" for any newbie internet marketers. These are things that you MUST have if you are going to make money online.

The first is all about having a "home" online. You need a website or blog that is your home base. The virtual bricks and mortar of your online business. To do this you require web hosting. Now there are thousands of web hosts out there.

Let me say this, "All web hosts are not created equal."

If you have been following this blog then you know that I just recently went through a nightmare with my hosting company. Watch out when the deal seems too good to be true.

One of my friends and fellow students, Adam Spiel, has just launched a hosting company that is like no other you will find.

Since I am writing this on my lunch break at work, I am not going to go into a long dissertation about all the features and benefits of Adam's new service. Quite frankly, the list is to long for me to do it here. It is much easier to give you a link to his site and let him do the explaining.

The second thing I want to tell you about goes hand in hand with the first and may just be the solution to your biggest problem. As you know, I am really big on using JV Giveaways to build my list. The most common problem that people run into when they want to be a contributor in a giveaway is that they don't have a product to giveaway.

OH MAN AM I P****D !

Hi all,

My word doesn´t time fly? I cannot believe that it´s been so long since I last posted.

I am sure that after writing this post I may well get a lot of  flack but, in the words of Clark Gable “quite frankly my dear I don´t give a damn”.  Since the end of the Alex Jeffreys training course I have been beavering away at quite a few projects and I´m pleased to say that they are all coming along quite nicely. The thing is only one of these projects is remotely connected to the IM niche.

The main thing Alex´s course brought out in me was the ability to focus and , as he describes in his own words, not jump on and off the chaos wagon, i.e. stick with one method.

My main reasons for working predominantly outside the IM niche are as follows:

1.  Whilst we all know that the IM niche is a burgeoning market, it is one of the hardest nuts to crack and the percentage of new marketers who are actually able to break through is tiny.  Obviously there are exceptions to the rule and a couple of the students on the course appear to be breaking eggs with big sticks, i.e. Dean Holland and Garry Parkes, and all good luck to them.

One of the best things that you can do in your Internet Marketing activities is to establish a presence that makes you and your material instantly identifiable. I’m talking, of course, about BRANDING or creating a “style.”

To have an instantly recognisable persona or logo or style will set you apart from the millions and millions of other wannabes out there.

You will notice that I have, over a period of time now, been using two “brands,” so to speak. I refer, of course, to “TheGazzMan” on Twitter and my blog here which I have branded as the “Temple.” You may think this is corny or ostentatious of me. I don’t care. Branding works. When people hear of the “Temple” they know what it is. And when they hear my alter-ego name they know who I am too. Or soon will.

I refer also to Nikki Stephens who has established herself as the “Purple Minxy Witch” residing at her “Lair of Temptation.” Yeah, it’s outrageous and funny and clever, all rolled into one. And that is what branding is all about. Go and have a look at www.nikkistephens.com as Nikki rolls out her new look blog - purple, of course.

Moving right along…

Love it or hate it, one of the most brilliant examples (IMHO) of endless branding of “personalities” and events can be seen by watching the WWE - the World Wrestling Entertainment.
